We are thrilled to announce that thanks to all of your donations over the past few years we have been able to donate £100,000 to the COMBAT-GB trail.

Glioblastomas are the most common type of brain tumour and around 32 of every 100 primary brain tumours diagnosed in England between 1995 and 2017 were glioblastomas. Which is why research and funding into trails are crucial to improve the health of future generations.

We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has donated and supported Brainstorm in being able to achieve this huge milestone, one we hope to do more of in the future.

BK5000 Advanced Ultrasound Scanner

With your donations Brainstorm has been able to buy and donate a new scanner to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford to aid with brain tumour diagnosis, care and operations.

With this new bit of kit, surgeons will be able to get a detailed image of the brain and any tumours that may be present. It will help surgeons in deciding what care, pre and post op, the patient will need as well as helping the patient directly, in better understanding the process they must go through.

In the operating theatre this will prove invaluable as surgeons will be able to see the margins of the lesion they are operating on. This will increase the success rate of operations and help avoid removing healthy parts of the brain surrounding the tumour.

Thank you all so much for your support, this new technology will directly help save peoples lives.
